SEO Foundation for a Private Medical Clinic: Audit, Keyword Strategy, and a Local Search Roadmap

A full walkthrough of how MarTraff built the SEO foundation for a healthcare clinic in Ukraine — from a 300+ issue technical audit through to geo-targeted keyword research, competitor benchmarking, and a link-building plan.

The Context

Medharmony is a private medical clinic with locations in Khmelnytskyi and Rivne, Ukraine. The clinic offers a broad range of services — general practice, gynaecology, dermatology, cardiology, laboratory analysis, and histology — and has been operating for over a year without a structured SEO strategy.

On the surface, the site was live and functional. Underneath, it had accumulated significant technical and on-page debt, no geo-targeted keyword strategy, a minimal backlink profile, and service pages that were effectively invisible in local search.

MarTraff was brought in to build the SEO foundation from scratch — not just to find problems, but to produce a complete strategic roadmap: what to fix, what to target, and how to build authority in a market dominated by national healthcare aggregators.

What We Did

The engagement covered six parallel workstreams — all feeding into a single prioritised action plan for the clinic.

Why Local-First Keyword Strategy Is Non-Negotiable for Healthcare

A private clinic cannot compete with Helsi, Doc.ua, or E-likari.com.ua on non-geo queries. These platforms have national authority, thousands of indexed pages, and years of backlinks. Searching “записатись до гінеколога” returns aggregators from across the country — Google cannot determine the user’s city.
The winnable territory is geo-specific: “гінеколог Хмельницький”, “аналізи здати Рівне”, “дерматолог Хмельницький ціна”. Lower volume, much higher booking intent, and directly competitive with other local clinics. The entire semantic core was built on this principle.
Every service page, every keyword cluster, every piece of content — all anchored to Khmelnytskyi or Rivne. That is the only search strategy that produces actual appointments for a local clinic.
